He has published one book and over 100 SCI-indexed JCR Q1 journal papers in journals such as Nature Energy, Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering and IEEE Transactions, including 6 ESI highly cited papers. His research has received over 8300 citations on Google Scholar. He was recognized as the “World's top 2% Scientist” by Stanford University from 2021 to 2025. He received the INFORMS ENRE Best Publication Award in Natural Resources, the Excellent Paper Award at the 34th International Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition (EVS34) in 2021, the Best Paper Award of the 3rd IEEE Conference on Sustainable Power and Energy (iSPEC 2021), the Best Paper Award of the 6th IEEE Conference on Energy Internet and Energy System Integration (EI2), 2022, and the Best Paper Award of the 2024 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific. Dr. Zhang is currently an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, Associate Editor of Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, and Associate Editor of iEnergy. He is also the Secretary-General of IEEE PES China Energy and Transportation Nexus Subcommittee, and a Member of the Technical Committee of CIGRE China National Committee.
